Message from the President: Membership in Society for the Arts continues to be the best buy in town with over 20 social opportunities each month. Your SFA Board continues to honor it's commitment to offer a variety of events for cost at beautiful and interesting venues. The $35.00 portion of your membership fee goes to the SFA donation fund for distribution to support the arts. By doing this, everyone involved in SFA supports the arts in the Valley. Your SFA Board acted responsibly in 2007 to continue this 22 year old organization by doing business in a different way. We are no longer obligated to produce large scale fund raising benefit dances involving excessive planning, work, and expenses. Yes, those are fun times to recall but the reality is….the days of free location are over. The benefit of lower cost for the various events is being passed on to members not only at dances but in discounted theater tickets, dining out, special group pricing for socials to name a few. Besides, it is fun to attend events with others and make new friends while being part of an organization that supports the arts. Join the fun! The summer dance series is a prime example of lower cost to members, at only $12 per person, which includes an appetizer buffet, fabulous live music and a terrific location at Farenehit 128 in Scottsdale boasting one of the Valley's best dance floors. Members and guests continue to enjoy the Colorado Connection and we have three additional dances scheduled with Harry Mathews, musician and entertainer. Guests who join SFA the night of the dance ($85 annual membership) will get in free. This is a special opportunity offered only during the summer dance series, to new members and those renewing who have not been a member for the past two years.
Also The following policy was approved at the May 19, 2008 Board meeting. The purpose of the policy is to protect the rights of the paid membership, clarify the renewal process and identify how renewal membership relates to any SFA discounts and promotions. Expiration of Membership and Privileges: Membership will be considered expired, if not postmarked 30 days subsequent to the expiration date. Members who have allowed their SFA membership to expire, are expected to renew at the membership fee, and are not entitled to new member discounted promotional deals. In addition, those with expired memberships will not be entitled to a three times introductory attendance offer for a period of two years.
